Apart from its beauty, this piece (and others) promotes and supports the conservation of endangered butterflies and the virgin rain forests which are vital to their survival. The butterflies used in Audrey Botha’s jewellery are sourced from an organisation that manages farming projects all over the world. Farmers are encouraged to make a living by sustainably rearing butterflies, rather than clearing their land to grow mono-cultural crops. The pendant is engraved with the year of manufacture on the side and issued with a luxury gift box and certificate of authenticity containing information about the butterfly and where it comes from.
